Some less-known facts
In no particular order, here are some factoids you might not know about Ms. Bell:
- She entered the University of California in Los Angeles and had originally wanted to be part of the medical profession, either as a surgeon or as a biomedical engineer.
- She had thyroid cancer when she was in her 20's, and had to have that organ surgically removed. She has a scar on her neck as a souvenir, which she is proud to wear.
- She is culturally in touch with her ethnicity, being fluent in Persian (as well as in English, of course).
- On her right ankle, she sports a heart-shaped tattoo with the word "LOVE" in it.
- She did modeling stints in Japan and Mexico. (She's done a Mexican American Express commercial.)
- Her nude scene in the film Death Becomes Her was supposedly uncredited. But it was on that set that she met her future husband Adam Beason, then assistant to director Robert Zemeckis.
- She supposedly made football history when, in a survey by The Sporting News among celebrities who are not directly associated with the game, she predicted the winner and final score of Super Bowl XXXVI: Patriots would beat Rams, 20-17. She was right on the mark.
